Benefits Of Rice Water To Your Hair!

Research has shown that rice is one of the beautifying aids for women. To a more potent solution, allow the rice water to sit for a day or two in a bottle so as to make fermented rice water. That will be an added benefit even though it might have a funny smell. The fermented rice water contains pitera that is rich in vitamins, minerals and amino acids. They are all anti-aging properties.

 Benefits of rice water to the hair

  • Rice water is the water left after rice has been cooked or soaked. It provides the hair shiny look and also makes it grow faster. The water contains 80 percent of starch as well as some essential vitamins and minerals like vitamin B, vitamin E and antioxidants.
  • It serves as a chemical free cleanser to the hair. It can be used as a shampoo to wash your hair even though it might not be convenient as the regular shampoo, it is a chemical free cleanser that comes with no preservatives which does not necessarily need to be followed up with a conditioner. It provides balance to your scalp's pH levels.
  • It also provides the function of keeping your hair's natural oil. You can simply add some drops of essential oils to your water rice to replace your regular shampoo.
  • The rice water treatment detangles the hair and provides more strength to the hair growth.
  • The rice water contains inositol (a carbohydrate that repairs damaged hair). It is evident that inositol remains in the hair after being washed off thereby offering consistent hair protection. 

How to prepare the rice water

  • Just get rice - any type of rice will work perfectly.
  • Rinse the rice with a cup of water to get rid of any dirt or impurities.
  • Place the rice in deep bowl and soak with water. Leave and cover for about 15 to 30 minutes. 
  • Sweep around or dribble untill the water turns cloudy. This will enable the vitamins and minerals to sink into the water in order to get the necessary nourishments for your hair and skin. 
  • Strain out the rice water into a clean bowl and then use it to wash your hair.
This is the quick method to prepare rice water. 

How to apply the rice water to the hair.

  • Wash hair with shampoo, then rinse with water thoroughly.
  • Part your hair into sections and apply rice water from the root to the tip.
  • Massage the rice water into hair and scalp.
  • Leave for 20 minutes to sink very well into the scalp.
  • Rinse the hair thoroughly with warm water.
  • Then deep condition 
Rice water should be kept in a bottle or jar with a lid with room temperature in a cool dry place. It should be consumed within 4 - 5 days or betterstill immediately. The rice water gets more concentrated as each day passes by, so you may need to dilute the solution with water with each passing day. The rice water should be discarded after 5 days and fresh one should be done.
